Proper mold testing should involve a thorough inspection and the process of taking and evaluating air samples. Testing is typically performed by an independent third party testing firm. The air samples the testing firm collects will provide the information necessary to determine the mold levels and types of mold present. These samples are shipped to a testing facility for analysis. Once the analysis is complete a report will be generated that will show the type(s) and amounts of mold that were found. Armed with this information we can make the informed recommendations on the proper course of action to take.
Testing should be performed by a licensed mold assessor. Additionally, the mold remediation contractor should be independent from the mold assessor to avoid any potential conflict of interest.
